Strategy can be defined as a course of action designed to achieve a desired result. That sounds synonymous with a plan. A strategy is a type of plan. When a plan says, we are here, and we want to be there, and this is what it takes to get there, the strategy does the same but considers one very influential factor - uncertainty.
When people hear the word strategy, many instantly think of generals and war. When you hear that word, you might be more inclined to envision a corporate endeavor. Sports is another application where taking the time to develop a smart strategy can pay positive dividends.
In all those examples, the most successful party is usually better at planning for uncertainty than their opponent. What is the opposite of uncertainty? Certainty or knowing what you can expect. That's the reliability that habits provide.
Successful Strategic Living Means Reducing Uncertainty
Strategic living embraces values. You explore your core values and begin living life according to them. Keeping them in mind, you write down your goals and draw up a strategy for achieving them based on your values.
This gives you more direction and purpose in life. There is something to guide you. Your values help you develop goals, and your goals give you a point of focus. So, you live your life with more meaning and fulfillment.
Bearing that in mind, imagine the following two scenarios.
In the first scenario, you are always encountering uncertainty. It seems every minute of every day, you have no idea what you will encounter. You have laid out a strategic plan for your life, but it isn't easy to follow because of many challenges.
Now, imagine you have developed habits that produce positive results. When you engage in these habits, you are certain about the outcome. Your life path has far less uncertainty. You are certain your habits will create results that move you forward toward achieving your goals.
Positive Habits Foster a Quicker and Easier Path to Goal Achievement
You are developing a life strategy because you want to achieve certain things. Taking nothing for granted and being proactive will always give you the best chance to enjoy your life experience.
Develop many positive habits to make your goals easier to achieve. They reduce uncertainty in your life and produce predictable results, quickening your journey to goal achievement and making your life more fulfilling.
